Role/Alignment: Angel
Power(s): Regeneration. While powerful enough to allow him to survive fatal blows, attacks that would instantly kill (decapitation, complete dismemberment, strikes directly to the brain or heart) or attacks that cause brain death (suffocation, drowning, some poisons) bypass this power. Severed limbs might be saved by holding them to the stump shortly after their removal. Furthermore, he feels the regenerative process rather acutely, making multitasking in any form while healing from severe wounds nearly impossible.
Played By: Maebara Keiichi from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Description: There was once a great monk who spoke with kings and commoners alike, who dedicated himself to war and peace with a single-minded devotion, who wrote "dream" upon a scroll and was no more. His descendants have kept those principals at the forefront of their thoughts, and Daisuke is no exception.
Born and raised in Minami-ku, Kyoto, Daisuke is the current descendant of Takuan Sōhō. He was raised to be observant, thoughtful, and reverent. He realizes the precarious position of the world, the coming end, and has had it explained countless times to him by his family. To Daisuke, this has been clear: when Sōhō wrote "dream" upon a scroll centuries ago, he was simply speaking of the impermanence of this world and it's inhabitants. So when Sakura, his lifelong friend, descendant of Miyamoto Musashi, for whom Sōhō had been a friend and mentor, informed him of her decision to move to Tokyo to prepare for the end, he could see no other recourse but to join her.
Daisuke is exceptionally kind and even-tempered, having something of his ancestor's gift for befriending others. He also has an almost inhuman amount of patience, though Sakura seems bound and determine to find the bottom of it's depths. While dedicated to this singular purpose, he also considers himself in certain ways above the current conflict: he may even come to value those on the other side as individuals, even as he fights against them. By all outward appearances, he is your average teenager, perhaps maybe a bit more introspective, but generally well-behaved. He is not maliciously looking to end all life: it is simply time for mankind to be mercifully removed from the cycle of rebirth.
